AWS Lambda

Provides opinionated guidance on creating, securing, and monitoring AWS Lambda-based applications

Lambda uses highly available, elastic infrastructure to run your code. It carries out compute resources-administration tasks, such as automatic scaling and capacity provisioning, operating system and server maintenance. Lambda can run code for almost any form of backend or application service.

In a serverless model, code needs to be organized into functions. Lambda only runs your functions when necessary. It scales automatically, varying from several requests a day through to thousands a second. You only pay for the compute time you use—you won’t be charged when code is not run.

Lambda can run your functions when triggered by events from different AWS services. You can also utilize your Lambda function via the Lambda API.

With more than 175+ certified AWS experts, Tiger Analytics has successfully implemented ML and other AWS services for numerous customers across industry verticals.

AWS Lambda Applications: Key Features
Concurrency Limits
It offers features like concurrency limits to provide you great control over your production applications which is very helpful in scalability.
Container Image Tooling
It has a feature named container image tooling, which helps in creating, testing, deploying the Lambda functions.
Code Signing
Lambda offers a code signing feature that only allows the unmodified code from an authorized developer that adds your trust and security restrictions.
Lambda Extension
It has an extension tool known as Lambda extension for its function to make it easier to connect Lambda with respective tools.
Sample Code
It has a feature that offers sample code that helps the users to integrate Lambda without any other help.
Database Proxy
Database Proxy is a feature of Lambda that controls a pool of database connections and redirects requests from one function to another.
Amazon Elastic File System
Amazon Elastic File System is used to securely read, write and persist huge amounts of data of any size.
AWS Lambda: Functions
01
File Processing
  • Lambda functions can be triggered by events from AWS services like Amazon S3. For file processing, S3 can trigger a Lambda function whenever a new file is uploaded to a specific bucket.
  • The Lambda function can then process the file, perform tasks like validation, transformation, or encryption, and store the processed data back to S3 or other data stores.
02
Data and Analytics
  • Lambda functions can be used in conjunction with services like Amazon Kinesis or Amazon DynamoDB Streams to process streaming data in real-time.
  • For batch processing, Lambda functions can be triggered by events from Amazon S3 or Amazon Glacier, allowing you to process large datasets stored in these services.
03
Websites
  • Lambda functions can power serverless backend APIs for websites built using services like Amazon API Gateway and AWS Amplify.
  • They can handle various tasks such as user authentication, data processing, and database interactions, providing dynamic functionality for web applications without managing servers.
04
Mobile Applications
  • Lambda functions can serve as backend services for mobile applications, providing functionality such as user authentication, data synchronization, and push notifications.
  • Mobile clients can trigger Lambda functions through API Gateway or AWS Mobile SDKs, allowing seamless integration between the frontend and backend of mobile apps.
